Foretaste

“We have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory.” (Romans 8:23, NLT)

The Christian life is filled with many hardships and challenges. The Apostle Paul speaks of its “sufferings and glory,” that is, what is faced today but also what is hoped for tomorrow.

God has given his Spirit to those who belong to his Son. The Spirit helps us in our weakness, gives us freedom, direction, and life. He is the firstfruit, a taste, of the inheritance that awaits those who long for the salvation that has begun to be brought to completion.

Foretaste is a sermon series devoted to the exploration of life in the Holy Spirit as presented in Romans 8. God has provided everything needed for his children to persevere. He leads, he empowers, he assures.
