Deuteronomy Book Study (2019-20, 21)
Deuteronomy is the fifth book of Moses. When Jesus was tempted by the devil he responded to him by quoting the Scriptures–the Book of Deuteronomy. When he was asked what the most important commandment is, he again answered by quoting Deuteronomy. Deuteronomy is the third most cited Old Testament book in the New Testament. It forms the foundation for the historical books of the Old Testament as well as for the messages of the prophets. There is hardly an aspect of human life that is not addressed in the Book of Deuteronomy. The book can be summarized as the instructions of the Lord to his covenant people so they can live and enjoy the blessings of God. The title of this in-depth study of Deuteronomy is: “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Godliness.”
