Pages for individual sermons series have been updated to include a listing of all podcast episodes for each respective series. Episodes from each series can now be streamed directly from the series page. This will make it even easier for you to find the episodes you are looking for from each sermon series preached at EMC.

We are currently in the process of migrating our sermon podcast into our new website. This is a lengthy process that should take some time to complete. We will be migrating episodes beginning with the newest first. If you need access to older episodes, please visit the old podcast page that has our complete archives at http://ecityemc.sermon.tv.

Welcome to the new website of Elizabeth City EMC! Our desire is to provide information about who we are, what it is we do, and how you can get plugged into the life of our church. Our approach was to create a user-friendly website with a clean, elegant design that looks and works great on any device, from desktops to smartphones. Fresh, Clean Design

We have designed the interface to be clean, attractive, and elegant while maintaining a high level of functionality and simplicity. Pages are never crowded with unnecessary objects. Menus are simple and non-intrusive. Colors and textures are pleasant, tasteful, and contemporary while the text is set for optimal legibility. We expect the site is as pleasant to look at as it is easy to navigate.

Big is Beautiful

When our visitors first come to the homepage they will be immediately met with large, attractive images that communicate something important about what’s going on here at our church. The Events page presents our church life in a graphical layout that is easy to scroll through. Nearly every page contains iconography that subtly directs people to where they want to go. Every page is enhanced to make browsing simple and enjoyable.

Primary Navigation

At the top of every page is a list of links for the major divisions of the website.

• About Us: Discover what it is that makes us unique and learn about who we are, where we’ve come from, and what we’re all about.
• Ministries: Learn about the many ministries Elizabeth City EMC has to offer children and adults of every age.
• Events: Find out all that is happening in the life of our church and easily synchronize your calendar with ours.
• Resources: Enjoy unlimited access to a whole range of content, such as the latest church news, regular articles and devotional thoughts on our pastors’ blog, our weekly sermon podcast, and more.
• Contact: Easily reach out and connect with any one of our church offices and friendly, accessible staff.
• Giving: Invest in the work of God’s Kingdom through the ministries of our church and contribute to our mission of making disciples of Christ.

Secondary Navigation

Within each major division of the website can be found a variety of pages containing useful content relevant to that area. To help you keep track of where you are and get to where you want to go you will find a secondary navigation menu on the right.

Our goal from the beginning was to implement a design that makes it as easy as possible for you to find exactly what you are looking for and get there as quickly as possible.

Dedicated Search

At the top of every page is a dedicated search bar for whenever you simply cannot find what you’re looking for. Just type in your request and hit ‘enter’ and you will instantly be taken to a search result page. Our search engine is constantly crawling and indexing our entire website, ensuring that you find exactly what you’re looking for in the blink of an eye.

Responsive, Mobile-Friendly Design

Mobile devices have overtaken desktops as the primary way people interact with the Internet. We have gone to great lengths to ensure that no matter what device you are using, our website is both fast and beautiful. Browsing on a laptop? Resize your browser and watch how seamlessly the objects on each page reposition to suit your viewing window. Browsing with an iPad? View the site in either portrait or landscape – it doesn’t matter.
