Night Light: 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Thursday Nights

A detailed schedule will be provided at the opening sessions.

Our study is Finding I Am, by Lisa TerKeurst. This interactive study features five weeks of personal, daily assignments and six weekly group sessions with video teaching. We will explore the seven I AM statements of Jesus found in the Gospel of John and discover how He truly is the bread, the light, the gate & the Good Shepherd, the resurrection & the life, the way, the truth, and the true vine. Applying these truths to our hearts can transform our lives!

Books will be available at the first sessions at a cost of $15.
(If you are unable to afford the book, please call and let us know and we can get you one free.)

Childcare is available for preschool children ages 0-5 years for Morning Light only. You must pre-register your children by 2/13 so that we will have appropriate staffing. Pre-register by contacting us with the names & ages of your preschool children.

UPDATE: Plans for Church on Sunday 1/8/17

There will be no services of any kind on Sunday, January 8th due to the impact of the winter storm currently affecting the greater Elizabeth City area. You are encouraged to worship the Lord in your own heart, with family, and with others however possible. Please help us spread the word through all of your contacts so that no one ventures out unadvisedly. Stay safe, keep warm, check on your friends and neighbors, and we will resume our regular worship schedule this week.

A Night of Christmas

PLEASE JOIN US Friday, December 16th for our 2nd annual EMC “Night of Christmas” music and sweet exchange from 7-8:30pm. All are welcome as we join in community to celebrate the birth of our Savior and acknowledge, “It’s a Wonderful Life”!

Please bring 3 dozen of your favorite family Christmas sweets to the event to share and all guests will receive a bakery box to fill and bring home for their own celebrations.

Also, we are asking to borrow “angel” décor for our centerpieces. If you have one to share, please bring it to the church anytime on the 16th from 3-5pm or if you can part with it earlier, you can bring it to church on Sunday, December 11 and leave it in the kitchen with your name on the bottom. All “borrowed” angels will go home with you after the event on the 16th.

Please consider inviting members of the community and your extended family for this special evening of fellowship. Refreshments will be served.

Christian to the Core

christian-to-the-coreBeginning January 1, 2017 EMC will be diving into Christian to the Core, an 8-week journey to becoming a deeper disciple by increasing your intimacy with God, increasing your love for people, and discovering God’s greater purposes for your life. During this study we will be exploring the Eight Core Values of the most vibrant and dynamic Christians in the world. Not only will this study form the basis of our preaching emphases between New Years and Lent, but my goal is that it will also guide the shared life of our small groups as well.

Each session of Christian to the Core gives biblical foundation, personal reflection, group discussion questions, and practical application. While this study can be done on your own, it is best experienced in a small group where you can study, share, and pray with others.

In the attempt to engage as many of our wonderful EMCers as possible, I recommend one of the following options for everyone at our church:

  1. Study Christian to the Core in your Life Group. I will be conducting a Life Group facilitators meeting on Wednesday, December 7th at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall to introduce this study to our existing Life Groups.
  2. Study Christian to the Core in an ad-hoc Life Group. Perhaps you are interested in this study but don’t have an existing group. If that’s the case, I recommend forming one, even if it’s just to spend 8 weeks together working through this wonderful material.
  3. Study Christian to the Core with Pastor Sean on Sunday nights. He will be leading a group through this study on Sunday nights at the church at 6pm for the duration of the series.

If you are interested in getting involved, please contact us ASAP.
