New Resource for Family Discipleship

We are excited to announce our new Family Discipleship blog, a collection of free resources that has the goal of helping parents become effective disciplers of their children within the home. Among these resources you will discover:

  • Monthly articles to assist you as a parent to disciple your children in a specific area (e.g. how to deal with peer pressure, television, etc.).
  • Weekly lessons to go through with your family that help ingrain biblical concepts and make them concrete throughout the week, beginning with a complete 30-week catechism.
  • Opportunities to intentionally invest in your family’s discipleship through church activities.
  • The ability to ask tough questions and receive feedback from ministry leaders.
  • And more!

Discipleship is central to our church’s vision and mission and we want to help families make discipleship a central feature of their lives together. Visit the Family Discipleship blog today and let EMC help equip you to raise godly children!

Holy Smoke

16-holy-smoke-projectorLet’s be honest; most of us have started a Bible reading plan in January only to bump into Leviticus around March and that resolution goes out the window. All of Scripture is for our edification, so how is a book full of blood and bells and bulls supposed to relate to us? What if we thought of the book in this way: if my life’s purpose is to live in the presence of the Holy One then how do I approach Him? What would it take for a person, with all of my stuff, to actually live in a face to face relationship with the Triune God?

That is the reason for Leviticus. It answers some fundamental questions about who God is and who we are in relation to Him. In this series, we will be looking at how we can apply this remarkable (and mysterious) book to our lives every week. We recommend that you try to read the book along with us as we work through it together. We promise you it will be a rewarding time. Everything that is truly helpful to our lives takes a bit of work, so let’s dig in and see what Jesus has to show us.
